FREQUENT POSITION FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare letters and written agreements/contracts. Schedule all orientations/classes and other events related to Diversion. Develop and maintain a positive public image. Maintains files, including opening, closing and updating. Database management Prepare various types of correspondence. Prepare individual offender contracts. Attending training. Contact juvenile offenders and update files Computer functions â€" work processing, databases and spreadsheets. Recordkeeping. Review reports. Use various office equipment; computer, fax, copier. Provide court reports or testimony as needed. Make frequent phone contact with clients, families and victims. Develop and maintain professional relationship with other organizations both in the community and across the state. Maintain accurate documentation on contacts with the clients, families and victims. Attend regular meetings with staff, law enforcement and organizations. Prepare statistical reports and assist with grant writing and fundraising efforts. Provide training and community education as requested and respond to requests and inquiries from the public Maintain all Truancy records. Answer phones. Collect and deliver interdepartmental mail. Other duties and special projects as assigned by supervisor. QUALITIES OF A GOOD OFFICE ASSISTANT FOR YOUTH PROGRAMS

Is well organized. Is enthusiastic and positive Is down-to-earth yet professional; fun yet gets work done. Has a close attention to details. Has proofreading ability. Has above-average typing ability. Has knowledge of resources available to youth/parents in the community. Able to handle the stress of noise and lots of different activities, and still able to make decisions quickly. Can work well with teachers, parents and other professionals.
