Description
To assist with work direction and training of Corporate Operations staff. Monitor daily assi! gned workflow. Develop and implement special projects requested by the Supervisors/Managers. Back up to Supervisor in absence.
Provides work direction for staff in conjunction with supervisor of area. Prioritizes work to be processed in order of importance as needed. Ensures that work is completed in a timely manner to meet prescribed deadlines and exceeds expected standards of customer service and satisfaction. Distributes workload equitably, to make effective use of processorsâ available time, skills, and abilities.
Assists other staff as necessary to keep department responsibilities current and meet deadlines. Notifies supervisor if work is not current or if deadlines are not met.
Department trainer for new employees and cross-trains employees on department procedures and TCF systems.
Assists supervisor of departments with establishing and updating policies and procedures. Recommends policy/procedure changes to supervisor.
P! rovides project assistance to supervisor/manager in developmen! t and implementation of new procedures/products/systems.
Compiles statistics for monthly management and production reports. Assures that departmental statistics are accurately completed by a predetermined date each month. In the absence of the supervisor, prepare monthly volume reports, general ledger reconcilementâs, graphs, FTE reports standard and budget variances
Monitors employeeâs work/skills to provide feedback to employee and supervisor for performance reviews.
Additional Responsibilities Specific to this Position:
Assists staff with researching and resolving customer account questions/problems.
Assists staff in providing correspondence to requestor that problem has been resolved.
Work with third party service provider/courier service.
Assist staff in processing all requests for subpoena, summons, search warrants, bankruptcy notices, worthless check requests and seizures.
Represents TCF at! a deposition or in court for the verification of account materials.
Involves attorneys in abnormal legal processing requests.
Assists staff with completion of verification of monies held in general ledger according to legal documents.
Qualifications
High school degree with 2 years post high school education or equivalent
Emphasis in management, accounting
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedures and regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and general public
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to calculate figures amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, etc.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
8 months combined experience as an O! perations Specialist I, Operations Specialist II, and/or Operations Spe! cialist III, or at least 24 months comparable experience
General keyboard experience
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, with all levels of management and employees.
Good organizational skills, ability to effectively assess priorities;
Ability to work independently
Accounting /bookkeeping
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers or members of the community.
One or more years of related work experience.
Ability to handle high levels of stress and pressure.
Prefer previous experience with word-processing, spreadsheet and database software.
Preferred Qualifications
Four year college degree with emphasis in management
2-3 years TCF Bank experience with exposure to general ledgers, policies and procedures.
