Primary Purpose :
Individual will improve current process and manufactured p! roducts in the machine/ manufactoring shop environment. Indivi! dual will have to have a proven background in research and development of current and future products.
Essential Duties:
Improve current designs via research and development. This includes figuring out more cost effective or efficient ways to manufacture our products, improving our services through simplicity of design as well as, reducing costs, and promoting safety through machine design process.
Indiviudal will spend time in the shop observing current processes and practices to identify areas of improvement. Create solutions and implementation of proposed solutions.
Individual will test protoypes as well as create prototypes
Will troubleshoot mechnical issues as they arise
Maintain communication with department leads and vendors to ensure deadlines are met and all necessary materials have been ordered.
work with outside engineering firms and patent attorneys
Must have great computer skills
! May direct the work of others, and with time may be in charge of employee work schedules, evaluations, performance coaching and training.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
4 year degree in manufacturing engineering or an industrial engineer or related filed required
3-5 years’ experience in each of the following:
Research and development required.
Working in a manufacturing or similar setting
Valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record
Must be proficient in : Word, Excel, Outlook, ect.
Strong foundation with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the mechanical or manufactoring or industrial engineering field.
Desired Skills:
Strong leadership skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Mechanically inclined
Strong drive to detect areas for improvement, create a solution and implement better
products,! processes and practices.
