Responsible for processing routine and non-routine work in a prioritized order. Ensures that work is competed within the prescribed deadline. Handles situations where greater risk to the Bank is escalated to this position for resolution.

Major Areas of Accountability

Handles multiple complex tasks simultaneously while adhering to TCF Corporate policies and/or Federal Regulations.

Final escalation of exceptions to normal processi! ng before involving next level of management.

May ide! ntify individual training needs and work one-on-one with individuals to ensure job expectations are met.

Communicates with both internal and/or external customers on more complex issues.

May communicate potential training issues to department supervisor/manager.

May perform in the function of support to cover areas where turnover has created production problems.

Identify processing inefficiencies and make recommendations to area management for enhancements.

May act in leadership role in absence of Coordinator and/or Supervisor.

Additional Responsibilities Specific to this Position:
Analyze all legal documents and other legal processes received by TCF to assure authenticity and compliance with State and Federal Regulations for Minnesota and Colorado.

Read, comprehend and complete all information required for the specific legal process received.

Research, prepare and coordinate the retrieval of! all bank documents required for all subpoena’s, search warrants and court summons/orders as required by government agencies, to ensure all documents are present and are delivered to the appropriate outside agencies by assigned deadlines.

Research and respond to attorneys, Corporate and Branch Operations upper management, investigators and governmental officials in a timely manner.

Work closely with the Bank Secrecy Department to ensure complete compliance with OFAC.

Document, in detail, lengthy investigations that may continue for several years. Continue to communicate new trial dates, new witnesses, new locations to specific parties involved in the case.

Testify in court if named in a specific Subpoena.

Process worthless check inquiries according to Minnesota statue and departmental procedures.

Provide a high level of customer service to all levels of TCF management, all levels of law enforcement and US Immigration a! s well as TCF customers.

Demonstrate fiscal responsibility whe! n working all files. Facilitate the most cost effective means to retrieve all required documents. Provide billing invoices for document retrieval at assigned or designated government rates. Collect and post restitution when received. Coordinates travel arrangements and witness fees when necessary.

Prepare monthly statistics for management on current volumes and any changes in processing.

Update and maintain department databases and storage files per regulatory record retention policies.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.

12 months combined experience as an Operations Specialist I and/or Operations Specialist II or 18 months comparable experience

Ability to apply abstract concepts to accounting functions

Ability to deal with multiple problems involving several variables in different situations

Good communication skills in order to communicate orally with all! levels of management as well as create routine written memos, letters and customer correspondence.

Ability to work independently with limited direction from supervisor

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedures and regulations

Strong PC skills (Excel, Word, and other applicable software)

Must speak fluent English.

Demonstrated ability to read and interpret legal documents, governmental regulations and State Statutes in written, oral or diagram form.

Demonstrated ability to deal with multiple cases and complex files involving several variables in different situations.

Preferred Qualifications

Post High School courses with interest in the legal field.

(Legal Secretary, Paralegal, Legal Researcher etc.)

Six or more months of experience in banking environment.

Six or more months of experience in any legal setting.

Proficient PC skills in Microsoft Office Software! .

Keyboard skills of 50 wpm and familiarity with Internet rese! arch.

Good understanding of TCF and all operations environment.
