We are a busy Vietnamese cuisine restaurant based in Christchurch. We are urgently hiring 2 Kitchenhands to assist our kitchen team.
The position is guaranteed 30 to 40 hours a week, competitive hourly pay rate from minimum$25 to maximum $30.
What you will do
- Promptly retrieving food items and ingredients from storage areas as requested by Cooks according to the orders received.
- Assisting the Cooks with the preparation of meal ingredients, which includes washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping vegetables, poultry, and meat.
- Stirring and heating soups when requested by Cooks or Chef
- Assisting Cooks with food preparation and decoration.
- Unloading of delivered food supplies.
- Organising the ingredient in fridges on the correct shelves, organising and correctly storing food supplies.
- Properly cleaning and sanitizing all food preparation areas according to established standards of hygiene, ensure the kitchen is ready for the following shift.
- Informing the Cooks/team if ingredients and spices are running low.
- Washing and appropriately storing all cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes.
- Cleaning kitchen and appliances.
- Sweeping and mopping the kitchen floors as well as wiping down kitchen walls.
Requirements:
- Great interest in Hospitality and Cook/Chef career.
- No experience and qualification required, our team will provide training to the suitable candidates with a willingness to learn
- Good time management
- Ability to work swiftly at a hot, steamy and fast-paced kitchen
- Familiar with authentic Asian/Vietnamese Cuisine is preferable
- Good personal hygiene and physical healthy
- Able to work as part of team
