We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Carrier Specialist to join our organization. As a Carrier Specialist, you will play a crucial role in researching and obtaining information related to individual market health plans. Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough searches on various platforms and websites, building relationships with carriers, and providing plan knowledge to the larger team. Prior experience in the individual health care market and proficiency in Excel are preferred qualifications for this role
Responsibilities of the Carrier Specialist:

- Conduct comprehensive searches on SERFF filings, DOI filings, State exchange filings, CMS, and Healthcare.gov websites to gather accurate information on plan rates, rating areas, and Summary of Benefit Coverages (SBCs) for individual market health plans.
- Update and maintain plan rates and SBCs within the assigned territory, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Verify the availability of plans within designated rate areas and audit plan rates and benefits for the available plans.
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with carriers in the assigned territory, serving as a point of contact for inquiries and fostering effective communication.
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of the carriers' application processes, methods of payment, and autopay policies.
- Assist in contacting carriers to confirm plan availability in selected rate areas
Qualifications & Skills of the Carrier Specialist:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education or certification in a relevant field is a plus.
- Prior experience in the health insurance industry, particularly in the individual health care market.
- Strong computer literacy with above-average typing speed.
- Intermediate or advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to analyze data and perform calculations.
- Excellent mathematical skills and ability to work with numbers accurately.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in using healthcare management software and Microsoft tools
