Juvenile Diversion Program Coordinator

Description: Pennington County, SD is looking of Juvenile Diversion Program Coordinator right now, this position will be settled in South Dakota. The Juvenile Diversion Program Coordinator manages and directs the overall activities of the Juvenile Diversion Program (JDP). Must provide staff management for employees in the Juvenile Diversion Program department. Must recruit, train, and supervise adult volunteers. Must provide case management to juvenile offenders referred to the Juvenile Diversion Program, to include, but not limited to: orientation, intake, tracking, education, and closing. Must develop and coordinate community support for the program.
Qualifications:
Education: College Degree preferred Experience: 1-3 years of work with: Juvenile Programs, Courts, and/or Schools Certification: South Dakota Driver’s License

Principles of supervision and training Organizational and management practices as applied to the analysis and evaluation of the program, policies, and operational needs Counseling techniques Juvenile statutes and courtroom procedures Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes and regulations Grants for purposes of program funding The Restorative Justice process
Successful candidate must have ability to:
Develop and maintain a positive public image and support for the Juvenile Diversion Program. Effectively work and communicate with parents, teens, law enforcement and court officers; judges, attorneys, court service personnel. Organize, direct, and implement a comprehensive Juvenile Diversion Program Select, supervise, and train volunteer staff Prepare and administer budget Respond to requests and inquiries from the public concerning the Juvenile Diversion Program Maintain detailed records Coordinate community service projects and departmental training Use various office equipment; computer, fax, copier Qualities of a good adult advisor for youth programs:
