May reconcile a! n assigned general ledger on a daily basis exercising a higher level of judgment.

May identify differences and resolve more complex outstanding differences daily. Communicates unresolved differences to immediate supervisor.

Escalate exceptions to normal processing to supervisor, exercising a higher level of judgment.

May process customer account adjustments as appropriate to complete their daily balancing procedures. Exercises higher level of judgement and discretion.

Communicate with both internal and/or external customers on more complex issues.

Adhere to policies and procedures within the department.

May complete assigned daily, weekly, monthly management reports.

Additional Responsibilities Specific to this Position:
Analyze all information, legal documents and other legal process received by TCF to assure authenticity.

Determine the customer accounts required for each piece of legal proc! ess received.

Coordinates the retrieval documents for! subpoenas and summons as required by government agencies, to ensure all documents are present and will be turned over to the various outside agencies.

Sends proper notification to customers, when dictated by regulations, regarding the service of legal papers to TCF.

Researches and responds to attorneys, Corporate and Branch Operations upper management, investigators and government officials or general customer correspondence regarding legal process.

Logs and reviews bankruptcy documents as received via First Class mail, inter-office mail or personal delivery service.

Processes worthless check inquiries according to Minnesota statue and departmental procedures.

Communicates effectively with all levels of management within TCF and outside professionals.

Prepares monthly reports for management on current volumes on incoming legal requests.

Plans and schedules work activities to complete assignments in order of pri! ority, keeping within the time frame set by law and/or stated in the document.

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree, some post high school education preferred

One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Demonstrated ability to effectively organize work load and work area; ability to effectively assess priorities.

Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.

Demonstrated ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Demonstrated ability to speak with customers, employees and members of the community.

Demonstrated ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interp! ret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or d! iagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Six months previous banking or investigative experience preferred

Previous experience with word processing, spreadsheet and database software preferred
